The Edenview Youth Trust was established in December 2002 with $76,000 being part of the proceeds from the sale of the Methodist Edenview Campsite near Edendale.

GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR 2008

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED - PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE FOR THE NEXT APPLICATION DATE

 

This is a notice to Southland Parishes regarding applications for grants from the  Edenview  Youth Trust Fund.   

Applications are called  three times a year.                                                                          

  

1  At this time up to $3,000 is expected to be available for distribution.  

2  The purpose for the grants is "New Ministries in Southland" The wording of the Trust Deed was amended by the Otago Southland Methodist Synod in 2005 to widen the scope for grants. The specific clause now reads that the funds may Be available for the development o new and on going Youth Ministries in Southland  OR any other New Ministries in Southland”

 

3  Applications are administered by the Invercargill Methodist Parish Council. and decisions  will be made by the committee established by the Parish Council as set out in the Trust Deed.

4 Applicants should give as much detail as possible to support their case.

The Edenview Trust has supported these activities since its inception:

 

1   Otautau Toy Library

Seeding funding to start; a grant for training staff  and a grant to help fund alterations to the area used by the Toy Library.

 

2   Otatara  Community Church a grant towards alterations to the Witherford Hall.

3   Support for youth and  outreach activities to the

                Otatara Community Church

                Invercargill Methodist Parish

                Grant towards leadership training for the

                Riverton Boys’ Brigade

 

4 A grant to support Parent and Family education in Riverton

5   A grant for a presbyter to attend  a Focus on the Family course

6   Grants to

the Southland Christian Education Commission  as support for  Bible in Schools

and to the Scripture Union to help support a Youth Worker.
